Tournament Rules and Regulations
- This tournament is a Hockey Saskatchewan sanctioned tournament and follows Hockey Canada and Hockey Saskatchewan rules governing minor hockey.
- The teams will be divided into four pools of four. Two points for a win, one point for a tie, zero points for a loss. First place teams will go to A event, second place will go to B event.
- Game duration: Will consist of three (3) 20 minute stop time periods. The ice will be cleaned after each period. If there is a five goal or more spread in the third period, there will be straight time. If the spread goes back to under five goals the game reverts back to stop time.
The tournament committee reserves the right to adjust the playing time and ice cleaning schedule of any and all games. Teams will be advised of any adjustments.
- Overtime: There will be no overtime in pool play. Medal Round + Final games tied at the end of regulation will be determined as follows: Teams will not change ends. Teams will play twenty (20) minute sudden death, stop time periods in a three skaters on three skaters format with the goalies in until a winner is decided. In the event of a penalty, the penalized team will have their player in the penalty box and the opposing team will be allowed a fourth player (ie four on three). The penalized player will rejoin the play at the end of the penalty and play will continue until a stoppage in play. The teams will then revert back to a three on three format. In the event of a 2nd penalty during the 1st penalty, the unpenalized team will go to five on three. Penalties in regulation will overlap into the overtime period.
- Tie Breaker: As per Hockey Saskatchewan Regulation 3.08.01 the following criteria shall be used to determine team standings in the event of a tie at the conclusion of pool play:
a) Two teams Tied
- Best win record in games played between tied teams
- If still tied, the team with the best win record
- If still tied, the team with the best goal average in all games would qualify. The goal average of a team is determined by dividing the total number of goals for by the total number of goals for and against in all games played. Note that a maximum of 7-goal difference per game will be used in the calculation of the game ratio. This will be calculated from the actual "goals for" of the losing team in the particular game.

- If still tied, the team to qualify would be the team, which scored the earliest goal in the game(s) between the tied teams.
- If still tied after all previous methods have been applied, the winner will be decided by a single toss of a coin.
